Asana

Build a firm body. Cultivate a stable mind.

Most people are only after flexibility. In these classes we use the body as a biological tool to regulate tension, improve posture and prepare the mind for stillness.

Traditional yoga class: asana practice to release tension and improve posture
Traditional yoga asana practice to release chronic tension

The practice

What exactly we work on on the mat.

  • Alignment and decompression

We correct physical tension patterns built up from desk work and a sedentary life.

  • Strength and presence

We build muscle tone and joint stability without overloading the nervous system.

  • Breathing capacity

We integrate movement with breath to shift from a state of alertness into a state of presence.

  • Attention and intention

We use physical effort as an anchor to train the observation of your thoughts.

The 4 Bhāvas

The 4 attitudes we train in every posture (Bhāvas).

We don't perform postures mechanically. Every movement cultivates a specific mental disposition.

Meaning

Discipline and discernment.
